Family Traditions
Here is a highlight of some of the traditions we like to do every year. We look forward to sharing these traditions and making new ones with a child!
New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Day
At Midnight everyone takes a turn giving a toast to the new year! And on New Year’s Day, Mary’s family has a large sit down meal.
Afternoon Tea
Mary and her mom and sister all had opportunities to study abroad in England. Every year we like to put on an afternoon tea!
Tom’s Birthday Party
We throw a party for Tom’s birthday every year!
Kentucky Derby
Mary’s family always celebrated the Kentucky Derby, so Tom happily adopted this tradition with us
Church Social
Both families attend and volunteer at our church fundraiser.
4th of July
We have a cookout every year! And some kind of fireworks!
Picnics
Mary has to go at least once a year!
Holiday World
Tom and I like to do at least one picnic a year.
Tom’s Family Backyard Hangouts
Tom’s family loves spending time outside on his parents land!
Pumpkin Patch
We enjoy going to the pumpkin patch every year and carving pumpkins!
Mary’s Birthday
Mary likes to celebrate her birthday with a homemade cake and a trip to the fall festival!
Halloween Party
Tom’s family dresses up every year for a costume contest.
Thanksgiving
Mary’s family bakes the pies together, and we have at least two Thanksgiving feasts between both sides of family!
Christmas Traditions
Building gingerbread houses and baking Christmas cookies.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
We go to Christmas Eve Mass together and open presents with Mary’s family.
And we open presents Christmas morning with Tom’s family and have a big Christmas meal.
